JAH VINCI: REAL WOMAN
Dru Blu: Survive
iRecords In Association With The Broadway Charity Present: Dru Blu – Survive (Filmed & Edited By Jimmy Chiba/ Prod. King Zion)
Indeed the track has quite a story behind it. The hook was actually sung by a homeless man living on the streets of Victoria who, seeking refuge, wandered into the recording studio and fatalistically ended up vocalling his lyrics.
Homelessness is a major issue and one which, more often than not, many of us seem to forget. It is refreshing to see Dru has explored homelessness, a subject rarely touched upon by recording artists in this country. Off the top of my head “Ralph McTell – Streets Of London” is the only other song commenting on the homeless that has struck a cord- in my 21 years anyway. Indeed, as London begins to recover from freezing temperatures of the past few days this track could not be more relevant. Certainly he is the first artist in a long while to attach himself to a project like this- for some it may fall outside of their comfort zone- but Dru tackles it head-on. Other artists, take note.

GHOST: CLUE
To date, this might be my favorite of Clue’s return tracks. Right now he is doing an awful lot for SW London.
TAKING IT BACK: SWISS- CRY
Songs like this make me proud to be from South London!
Classic with a Capital C.
“Tell Di Artist Dem To Cut Out Di Crap Dem”
Capleton makes a fiery return on the “Saucy Head Riddim.” Is he having a pop- I think so.
Follow Me Up!
Carrying over from 2011 Black Ryno continues on with his endless supply of Popcaan disses.
To my knowledge this all began in February 2011 when Popcaan released “Hear Dem A Talk” (Black Ryno Diss) {Bottle Party Riddim} on TJ Records and since then its been back and forth between the two. In the first month of this year however Black Ryno seems to have sent for Popcaan twice already. It’s all a bit beyond me if I’m honest but but once every couple of months we get a good song out of it so who’s complaining? Not me.
